Mini Project 01

You are supposed to conduct a survey on the following topic. The topic of your survey is

Survey Topic

“Why our young generation is more interested in going abroad”

Purpose of this Survey

The purpose of this survey is to explore the trend among today’s youth, and to study why our young generation is more interested in going abroad.

Objectives of Survey

The main objective of the current research work is as follows.

1. To study the youth trend in going aboard.
2. To study the reason behind this trend.

Sample

Select any 10 post graduate students or employed males between 20-35 years of age on the basis of your connivance who are interested in going aboard and fill the following questionnaire from them.

Make a Report of your acquired results

Now make a full report on your findings. Your report should contain the following sections:

1. Introduction

Introduce your project. For example you can write about psychological survey methods and the benefits of using survey research. Also write what you have been
assigned to do. (2)

2. Methodology/procedure

Illustrate the procedure which you adapt for doing your survey. (2)

3. Make a report and tables

Manage your attained data and analyze all categories individually. (For this purpose its better to pick one factor at a time and examine which point in that particular factor is most dominant which makes our youth feel to go aboard). Now analyze; among all six factors which is the strongest factor which motivate youth to go aboard. In this way you will get your results. After that
Make a hierarchy of all the categories in ascending order from the most significant factor to the least significant factor in tabular form. (5 marks for tabular presentation and final results)

4. Discussion

In this part you are supposed to elaborate and discuss your findings.

• After analyzing the data and results, conclude and critically evaluate which one is the most significant reason/factor among all the categories in your point of view and WHY. (6)

• Give some creative and useful suggestions to overcome this current problem. (5)

• Last date for submission of assignment is 21/11/2009.
• Every student will work individually and has to write in the form of an analytical assignment.
• Give the answer according to question, no mark will be given for irrelevant material.
• Don’t rely only on handouts, use other reference books also.
• Mention the source (bibliography) which you are using for preparing your assignment. Consult different books and websites but use your own wordings and concepts.
• Basic concepts in the language and words which are mentioned or written in your source but the application of those concepts must be in your own words.
• Remember don’t try to copy from handouts or any website; otherwise you will get absolutely 0 marks.
• Restrict to the topic, avoid irrelevant details; avoid long paragraph.
• Assignment should be in 12 font size and Times New Roman/Arial.
• Avoid extra material, write to the point.
• Compose your document in MS-Office 2003. Any file created in any other version will not be accepted and marked zero.
• Use black and blue font colors only.
• Make sure that you upload the solution before due date. No assignment will be accepted through e-mail after the due date.
• Cheating or copying of assignment is strictly prohibited; No credit will be given to copied assignment.
• Plagiarism will never be tolerated. Plagiarism is the use of direct quotations without identifying them as such or the summarizing or paraphrasing of other quotations. If you do not specifically identify the source of ideas other than your own, you are plagiarizing.

Marking Scheme

Marking scheme has been mentioned at the end of each section but marks will be given on the quality of written material and the data provided from you.

Basic purpose of doing this project is to improve your understanding and skills about survey technique and data collection.
